ON GRID

On-Grid Systems are solar PV systems that only generate power when the utility power grid is available.  They must connect to the grid to function.  They can send excess power generated back to the grid when you are overproducing so you credit it for later use.

These are the simplest systems and the most cost-effective to install.  These systems will pay for themselves by offsetting utility bills in 3-8 yrs.

If a grid connects system is producing more power than is being consumed, the surplus is fed into the mains power grid to Govt. Govt will adjust the same in your next electricity bill or pay you for the same.

Hybrid solar systems generate power in the same way as a common grid-tie solar system but use batteries to store energy for later use. This ability to store energy enables most hybrid systems to also operate as a backup power supply during a blackout, similar to a UPS system.

Traditionally the term hybrid referred to two generation sources such as wind and solar but more recently the term ‘hybrid solar’ refers to a combination of solar and battery storage which unlike off-grid systems is connected to the electricity grid.
